Invitation – International Expert Symposium with a ˝Knowledge Marketplace˝

Primary School of France Prešeren Črenšovci

organizes an International Expert Symposium with a ˝Knowledge Marketplace˝

on 21st and 22nd February 2020

Learning – a challenge or a nuisance (task) of a 21st century school?

School of the 21st century places extremely important tasks ahead all of us. What should they do and what should their students and teachers be like in a 21st century school? Is learning at school really just a burden or can it be a challenge? How to put the student in an active role as a thinker, planner and researcher of his or her own learning and knowledge? When participating in school, can a student feel well when his or her voice is heard, when he / she is in charge, and when he / she can? Do we, as teachers, allow peer collaboration, listen to it, and hear it? Do we allow them to learn from experience when building partnerships with students and when allowing them to co-design the learning process? Do they both grow professionally?

How much can neuroscience research on brain function be used for school-based learning? When is learning a burden and when can it also be a release and a path to self-fulfillment and self-regulation?

What experience do you and your children have in kindergarten, elementary and secondary school, university?

With which didactic aids, methods and forms do you develop critical thinking, collaboration and acceptance, communication, creativity and digital competence? How do you reduce the disadvantages of a socially deprived environment?

Perhaps you are performing formative assessment and already notice the positive effects of this process? How and in what way do you undertake joint planning of the learning process? By what methods do you develop and encourage the development of effective and critical thinking? How do you take care of teaching support for those who need it? How do you listen to the students to hear and consider their voice? How do you enable peer collaboration and networking? How do you establish a partner relationship with students?

How do you approach student learning and self-regulation, which is a goal of primary school?

All of these are questions that require reflection, conversation and an answer.

If you have experience and answers to these or similar questions and are ready to share with us, we invite you to attend the 13th International Symposium on 21st and 22nd February 2020.

The symposium might be of interest for all professionals in kindergarten, elementary school, high school, university and other institutions involved in education. Again, the focus will be on the autonomy of the school in the implementation of learning in 21st century school. We also invite parents to take part and share their view of school activities within a compulsory and expanded program. This year’s International Symposium is once again combined with the Knowledge Market, where we want to show examples of good practice in working with students from the broadest perspective. We invite various organizations and societies to participate in the Knowledge Market, which will share their knowledge and successful practice.

You can participate in the symposium as listeners or by actively contributing in the form of an expert paper, presenting a poster or presenting didactic and other material on the stand. The symposium will be held in plenary and group work and in workshops.
